Both Lutheran churches in Jefferson, Trinity Lutheran and Christ Lutheran, invite area residents to join them in the preparatory season of Advent.
Trinity Lutheran Church, at 801 W. Lincoln Way, will serve a meal Wednesdays, Dec. 2, 9 and 16, at 5 pm. An Advent service will follow at 7 pm, telling “The Stories of Advent” as all those present prepare for Christ’s birth through the eyes of Zechariah, Mary and Joseph.
Christ Lutheran Church, at 1201 S. Elm St, will host an Advent Fair Sundays Dec. 6, 13 and 20 following the 10 am worship service.
This Sunday, Dec. 6, all are invited to bake and deliver cookies and to go caroling from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. A soup supper will be served from 5:30 to 6:30 pm with a free will donation accepted to support summer day camp. There will be a women’s Christmas tea Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 7 pm.
The Christmas Eve candlelight service will be at 5 pm.
