The Ram girls varsity basketball team is still looking for a win after being on the short end of a 50-20 score against the non-conference Perry Jayettes on the Greene County Middle School gym Tuesday evening.
Turnovers told the story. Unofficially, the Rams had 37 turnovers for the game, compared to the Jayettes’ 15 turnovers. The Rams made eight of 27 shots from the floor, while the Jayettes made 21 of 59. The Rams made four of 14 free throws; the Jayettes made four of 10.
Sophomore Laurin Lyons led the Rams in scoring with eight points, including making two of four shots at the foul line. Seniors Nicole Rohner and Sunny Mobley scored four points each, and junior Hannah Promes and sophomore Onica Delp scored two points each.
Coach Dean Lyons gave all players time in the game.
The Rams are now 0-2 on the season, 0-1 in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference.
