Habitat for Humanity dedicates trio of rehab projects

Heart of Iowa Habitat for Humanity volunteers and staff gathered with homeowners to dedicate three Helping Hands projects Sunday, Oct. 18.

Dedicated were the homes of Ellen McElroy on Main St in Grand Junction, Patsy McGinnis on S. Olive St in Jefferson, and Lori Campbell on Pinet Place in Jefferson.

At all three dedications, Adam Pedersen, Greene County Habitat board chair, welcomed guests and emceed the ceremonies. Associate director Jeff Lamoureux gave the project overviews for the McElroy and Campbell projects, and Habitat board member Gary Von Ahsen gave the project overview for the McGinnis home.

Devotions and prayers were given by Pastor Sheldon Henderson of Central Christian Church in Jefferson at the McElroy home; by Bruce Webster of Jefferson Church of Christ at the McGinnis home; and by Father Jeff Schleisman of St Joseph Catholic Church in Jefferson at the Campbell home.

Habitat’s 2015 Nativity Festival is slated for Dec. 13. Watch for information.
