Scores against Ar-We-Va were 19-21, 23-21, 8-15. “We got off to a great start in set one, but didn’t come out ahead. Even though it was a close finish in set two, we kept control throughout and made some great adjustments. Things took a turn in set three. We had a rough start in serve receive and seemed to fall apart mentally, coach Hannah Boehmer said.
Against Ar-We-Va Megan Carey served at 11 of 11 with three aces and Jenna Beyers served at 10 of 10. Mariah Tasler was 10 of 13 serving with four aces. Sydney Koch had nine kills and eight digs. Carey, Grace Geisler and Carleigh Paup had eight digs and Tasler had eight assists.
Scores against Coon Rapids-Bayard were 21-10, 16-21, 12-15. “The girls did a great job recovering from their loss to Ar-We-Va and won decisively against Coon Rapids in set one. In set two we got off to a good start, but started to struggle defensively. While we didn’t get set three, the team played much better than our first match up against the team. Sydney Koch especially had a strong game, Boehmer said.
Koch was nine of nine serving with one ace and had nine kills and 13 digs. Geisler was 12 of 13 serving and had nine digs. Tasler was credited with 10 assists. The Rockets won in two against CAM with set scores 21-17, 22-20. “It took us some time to recover from our close loss to Coon Rapids, but the girls fought through to earn their way to the second half of the conference tournament at West Harrison,” Boehmer said.
Geisler was top server at 9 of 11. Koch had 11 digs and seven kills. Maria Tasler had nine digs and Mariah Tasler and Paup had eight assists each.
