The Heart of Iowa Activities Conference cross country meet was held Oct. 12 on the Iowa State University course west of the campus in Ames. The Greene County girls team placed seventh and the boys team placed ninth.
Leading the Ram girls was Oliva Hansen in 17th place with a time of 22:42.7. Emily Finch was 21st with a time of 22:52.8. Sunny Mobley set a personal record time of 26:25.3 and finished in 65th place. Other times were Melanie Doran at 68th in 26:37, Regan Lamoureux in 96th at 28:59.1, Emily Bettey in 104th at 30:25.4, Emily Most in 106th at 31:17.7, Emma Larson in 107th at 31:18.1, and Caytlyn Adamson in 111th at 32:51.7.
Winning time for the girls was 20:46.7 run by Carly Rahn of Gilbert. The top 15 finishers were named as all-conference. The 15th place time was 22:27.79
In the boys race, Nick Killion was the first Ram to finish with a time of 21:07.9, good for 55th place. Other Ram finishes were Ethan Woodruff at 90th place in 22:49.1 (a season’s best time for him), Ben Wilkins at 97th place at 23:10.4, Nathan Kennedy at 123rd place at 25:25.0, and Jacob Hueser at 135th place in 30:07.3.
Winning time for the boys was 17:44.16 run by Jason Taylor of Gilbert. The 15th place time was 18:15.60.
Gilbert won the girls division with a total score of 25. Other team scores were North Polk 36, CMB 81, PCM 131, Nevada 152, Roland-Story 173, Greene County 184, Saydel 186 and South Hamilton 240.
Gilbert also won the boys division with a total score of 30. Other team scores for the boys were North Polk 83, Nevada 91, South Hamilton 91 (fourth place based on order of top finishers), Roland-Story 126, CMB 155, Saydel 85, PCM 187 and Greene County 256.
