The Paton-Churdan Rockets split volleyball matches at Exira Oct. 8, beating West Harrison in four games, but losing to Exira/Elk Horn Kimballton in five.
Scores against the West Harrison Hawks were 15-25, 25-12, 25-14 and 25-8. The team served at 86.8 percent, with Sydney Koch at 20 of 21 for 95 percent and Grace Geisler at 13 of 14 for 93 percent. Koch had 15 kills and 18 digs while Geisler had five kills and 11 digs. Carleigh Paup had 11 digs and 10 assists and Megan Carey had nine digs. Mariah Tasler had 14 assists.
Scores against the E-EHK Spartans were 16-25, 25-20, 25-22, 23-25 and 11-15. The team served at 88 percent. Koch served a perfect 23 of 23, Paup was 14 of 16 for 87.5 percent, and Geisler was 18 of 21 for 86 percent. Koch had 21 kills and 21 digs. Geisler had 28 digs, Paup had 20. and Jenna Beyers had 12. Tasler had 16 assists and Paup had 14.
