Greene County residents are invited to join Iowa’s 5th “Healthiest State Walk” Wednesday, Oct. 7. Three walks are planned in Greene County. The earliest is in Churdan, with the walk starting at the Paton-Churdan school at 9 am. Students will participate and members of the community are welcome.

In Greene County district court Christopher Herbert Lawrence, 35, of Ames was sentenced Sept. 25 after changing his plea to guilty Sept. 2 to charges of driving while license barred, carrying weapons and possession of methamphetamine. In Greene County magistrate court a judgment was entered against Trent Daniel Robinson of Guthrie Center on a charge of theft-fifth degree. Robinson was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge. He must also pay a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge, restitution to be determined, and $60 court costs.
