In Greene County district court Wayne C. Briggs, 42, of Southerland, NE, was sentenced Sept. 22 to two days in jail after he pleaded guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated-first offense, amended from OWI-second offense. He must complete the recommendations of a substance abuse evaluation he has already completed, and he must complete a community college drinking drivers course. He must pay sheriff’s fees for the time he serves, a $1,250 fine with a $437.50 surcharge and a $10 surcharge for drug abuse resistance education (DARE), and $100 court costs.
