Phase Two begins at Greene County Medical Center

Learn more at a  town hall meeting Monday evening

Phase Two of the expansion of Greene County Medical Center is under way. An early step is the demolition of the south wing, which until Aug. 28 was home to the obstetrics department on the first floor. People who have a long history with the medical center will recall long term care rooms on the second floor. The wing was demolished Thursday with clean-up still being done this week.GCMC demo wide shot

Additionally, the public health department has moved back into the main building and the modular office space will be moved from the clinic parking lot soon. Patients going to the public health department should use the clinic entrance and take Elevator D down to Level B.

Medical center CEO Carl Behne will provide more information about Phase Two of the project at a town hall meeting Monday, Sept. 28, at 6 pm at the Greene County Community Center in Jefferson.

Behne is just one of several speakers who will respond to “It’s been a great year – What’s next?” All interested county residents are encouraged to attend the town hall meeting, hosted by Greene County Development Corporation.
