Greene County district court, week ending Sept. 4

In Greene County district court disposition was entered Sept. 2 against Robert Derrick Sheber, 44, of Elkader after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated (OWI)-first offense. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail. All but two were suspended and he was placed on informal probation for one year. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He must also complete a drinking driver’s course at a community college. Sheber was fined $1,250 with a $437.50 surcharge; half will be waived if he obtains a temporary restricted license. He must also pay a $10 surcharge for drug abuse resistance education (DARE) and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Adrea A. Kester)

Amanda Fay Petrzilka, 30, of Scranton was sentenced to two years in prison after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of eluding. The prison term is concurrent to a sentence she is already serving. She was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge; the fine and surcharge were suspended. On the OWI charge, Petrzilka was sentenced to two days in jail (concurrent). She was fined $1,250 with a $437.50 surcharge and a $10 DARE surcharge. She must pay sheriff’s fees in an amount not specified and $100 court costs. The court found that she is unable to pay $120 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees. A companion case in magistrate court in which she was charged with interference with official acts was dismissed. (Sentencing: Kester)

Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignments as follows: Anthony Charles Kennedy, 32, of Jefferson, OWI-first offense and eluding; and Ricardo Emmanuel Rodriguez, 29, of Jefferson, public intoxication-third or subsequent offense. Trial dates were set for Nov. 3 in both cases.

Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Trey Darwin Tucker, 16, of Grand Junction, sex abuse-third degree; Eric Wayne Bellinghausen, 35, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault impeding air/blood flow causing bodily injury; and Craig Darwin Presley, 54, of Lake View, OWI-second offense.

Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Angela Marie Roper, 42, of Churdan has been charged with possession of methamphetamine-first offense and possession of marijuana-first offense. The warrant was issued Aug. 12 and returned Aug. 26.
