Youngsters ages 8-18 are invited to join Greene County outdoorsmen and women for the annual Outdoor Day on Saturday, Sept. 19. The event will be held at Slininger Woods, 1430 Jordan Avenue, Jefferson.
Check-in begins at 9:30 am with the action starting at 10. A free lunch will be provided with activities concluding at 4 pm.
Pre-registration is requested by Sept. 15 by calling Dean Ross at 515-386-4402. Youngsters must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Youngsters need not be a Greene County resident to participate.
Activities include black powder rifle, shot gun and rifle shooting; archery; trapping demonstration and other outdoor activities. All equipment will be provided.
The event is sponsored by Greene County Sportsman’s Club, conservation board, Peace Officers, NWTF, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, 4-H and Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
