Are you expecting to retire within the next 10 years? You will be making lots of decisions, and many questions may arise: When should I claim Social Security? My friend bought an annuity – is that a good idea? How can I keep up with inflation? What are required minimum distributions? Most importantly, you may be asking: How can I be sure my funds will last my entire life?
“Writing Your Retirement Paycheck” is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 6:30 pm at the Greene County Extension office. The decisions made around the time of retirement will determine a person’s lifelong financial security, so it is important to gather clear, non-commercial information before making those decisions.
Presenters will be Carol Ehlers and Barb Wollan, human sciences specialists in family finance with ISU Extension and Outreach. The workshop fee is $15, including extensive printed materials. Pre-register by Sept. 18 by calling Greene County Extension at 515-386-2138.
