The Town and Country Band will host a Tunes and Treats fundraiser Sunday, Aug. 30 in the Churdan city park.
Desserts will be served from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. At 7 pm the band will perform a variety of music ranging from marches to Broadway. Highlights will include “Clarinet Polka” featuring Phyllis Minnihan, Ruth Consier and Renaye Lindgren, and “Conversation for Cornet” featuring Wayne Lautner and Peg Semke.
Free will donations will be accepted at the dessert table and during the concert. The band is raising funds to purchase large instruments that are typically school-owned, like a tuba and/or a baritone saxophone. Proceeds will go toward that project, and to purchase additional Town and Country Band shirts to have available for guest musicians.
All are welcome to bring lawn chairs and enjoy an end-of-summer evening in the park. Tunes and Treats will be held at the First Baptist Church in Churdan in the event of rain.
