Two events are planned in Scranton on Saturday.
The fourth annual Gary McDonald Tractor Ride begins at 9 am at the Scranton Community Center. Participants are advised to bring their own lunch and drinks. The route will stop in Grand Junction where drivers and riders will tour the Kennedy Museum before returning to Scranton.
Truck and tractor parking will be available at the West Central Coop office. The ride should conclude in mid-afternoon.
In the meantime, some of the area’s best cooks will compete in the Backyard Cookout Contest at the Scranton Community Center. Several entrants will showcase their best recipes for pork loins and burgers.
Tractor riders will receive free admission to the grilling contest. A reasonable admission fee will be charged to others to sample the meat and for the sides to go with it. The winner will be determined by a vote of the guests.
For more information, contact Chop Gibson who is heading the tractor ride or Dawn Rudolph on the grilling contest. ~The Scranton Journal
