Although Wild Rose Jefferson has been open for more than three weeks, the grand opening Friday lived up to expectations for a gala event. An estimated 400 people stood where soybeans had been planted up until a year ago to hear congratulations from elected officials and thank yous from members of Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation and Wild Rose management.

Santorum makes campaign stop in Jefferson
Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum met with about two dozen voters Sunday afternoon, Aug. 2, at Greene Bean Coffee in Jefferson. Santorum, of Pennsylvania, served two terms in the U.S. Senate, 1995 to 2007. He lost a bid for re-election in 2006. This is his second presidential campaign, having also been a candidate in 2012.
