The Greene County and Paton-Churdan schools have announced registration dates for the 2015-16 school year.
Registration for Greene County students will be Monday, Aug. 10, from 4 to 7 pm and Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 8 am to 3 pm at Greene County High School in Jefferson. Students in all grades will register there.
Parents should be prepared with home, work, and cellular telephone numbers, and emergency contact information and a preferred doctor.
Forms can be downloaded from the school’s Online Registration Resource Center and filled out prior to registration to make the process more efficient. Book fees are due at that time as follows: Kindergarten and transitional kindergarten, $30 (reduced $12); grades 1-3, $40 (reduced $16); and grades 4-12, $45 (reduced $18).
A full waiver of the book fee is available to students whose family meets the requirements for free meals under the Child Nutrition Program. Fees are reduced for families who meet the requirements for reduced price meals. The application for the waived or reduced fees must be filled out before registration. The forms are also available at the Online Registration Resource Center. The application is good for only one year; families who qualified last year must apply again this year.
For Paton-Churdan families registration dates are Thursday, Aug, 6, from 12 to 8 pm, and Friday, Aug. 7, from 8 am to 4 pm. Forms are online and can be filled out prior and ready to go for registration.
The first day of the new school year is Aug. 24 in both districts. Students have a day off that Friday, Aug. 28, due to a teacher professional development program that was scheduled before the start date was determined.
