Greene County Medical Center is pleased to welcome Dr James Meyer, pulmonology/sleep medicine specialist, to the medical center campus. Dr Meyer will be in Jefferson the second Tuesday of each month beginning Aug. 11.
Meyer has special interest in obstructive sleep apnea and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD). He and his staff will provide a full range of pulmonology and sleep medicine services, including partnering with Western Iowa Sleep, a privately-owned sleep study business in Carroll, for the monitoring of sleep studies in the medical center’s new sleep study rooms.
If untreated, sleep disorders can lead to an increased risk of heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure, diabetes and work-related or driving accidents.
Meyer has been affiliated with UnityPoint Clinic – Pulmonology in Fort Dodge since 2000 and will be seeing patients in UnityPoint Clinic – Greene County, located on the west end of the medical center. In addition to practicing at the Fort Dodge clinic, Meyer also travels to Storm Lake and Pocahontas for specialty clinics.
