Greene County district court, week ending July 17

In Greene County district court Andrew Lee Jensen, 33 of Jefferson was sentenced to two concurrent five-year prison terms after he changed his plea to guilty to two counts of theft-second degree. He was also sentenced to two years in prison, concurrent, on a charge of assault-aggravated. The prison terms were suspended and he was placed on probation for  two to five years. He was fined $750 with a $262.50 surcharge on each of the theft charges, and $625 with a $218.75 surcharge on the assault charge; the fines and surcharges were suspended. He must pay a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge on each of the theft charges as well as $500 victim restitution. His driver’s license was suspended for 180 days.

Jensen was also charged with operating while intoxicated-first offense. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail; all but two were suspended. He must pay a sheriff’s fee for the time he serves. He was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge. He must complete a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense, and he must complete a  drinking drivers course at a community college. On all charges, restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees totaled $240 and court costs were $447.25. (Sentencing: Honorable Michael J. Moon)

Cody Lee Sellman, 26, of Jefferson was sentenced to five years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of burglary-third degree. The prison time is concurrent to a sentence in another Greene County case and two Carroll County cases. Sellman was fined $750 with a $262.50 surcharge; the fine and surcharge were suspended. He must pay $180 court costs. A charge of criminal mischief was dismissed. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria S. Kester)

James John Souder. 48, of Carroll was sentenced to two years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of theft-third degree. He was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge; the minimum fine and surcharge were suspended, but he must pay a $125 LEI surcharge.

On a charge of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, Souder was sentenced to 10 years in prison, concurrent to the first. He is to be given credit for time served. He will serve the mandatory minimum one-third of the sentence, with that reduced by one-third in consideration of his guilty plea, and the term is further reduced by one-half. Souder has 262 days to serve. His driver’s license was revoked for 180 days.

On the meth charge he was fined $1,000 with a $350 surcharge; both were suspended. He must pay a $125 LEI surcharge. He must pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees to be determined and $161 court costs. (Sentencing: Moon)

Allison Ann Marie Tucker, 20, of Jefferson pleaded not guilty at arraignment to two counts of child stealing and child endangerment. A trial date was set for Nov. 3.

Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Angela Bonnette, 24, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury; Travis Ryan Armstrong, 26, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana-second offense; and Richard Charles Burkhardt, 46, of Jefferson, criminal mischief-second degree and assault on a person in a certain occupation.
