Volunteers who are curious about “what lies beneath” are invited to help Jefferson Matters: Main Street and city volunteers take the siding and awning off the building at 205 N. Wilson this Wednesday, July 8, at 6 pm.
Jefferson Matters volunteers will take photos to send to a Main Street design consultant for help in planning what comes next.
The city of Jefferson accepted ownership of the building, along with a gift of $5,000 for its re-purposing, in May. The city plans to clean up and repair the building to make it usable again as a commercial building. As a Main Street community, Jefferson has access to experts to help with design leading to preservation of historic downtown buildings.
