Letter to the editor, This Fourth of July please be considerate to veterans by treating them like tough, brave veterans.  The yard signs and other warnings urging restrain with fireworks around veterans are making rounds on social media.  Don’t share them. Don’t pander to them. Decry them. The victimization of veterans is actually harming veterans. The fireworks are not.

Rams take two from R-S on the baseball diamond

The Ram baseball team won both games of a doubleheader against the Roland-Story Norsemen in Jefferson Wednesday evening. The first game was a 4-2 win behind senior Riah Nelsen’s solid pitching. Nelsen improved his record on the mound to 5-1 as he struck out 13 batters. He walked four and allowed five hits. Both the Norsemen’s runs were earned.

Rams earn HOIAC softball title

The Greene County Rams claimed the title in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference with a 9-1 victory over the Saydel Eagles in Jefferson Wednesday. The Rams are 15-0 in the conference. CMB is in second place with four losses. With only three games remaining on the conference schedule, the Rams have locked up their first place position.
