The Jefferson public library will host a free computer class, “Using Google Chrome,” Mondays from 6 to 8 pm. The six-week course was originally slated to begin June 15 but has been delayed to begin June 29.
Barb Brooker, whose particular expertise is teaching folks who think they’re too old to learn how to use technology, will teach the class.
Topics covered will include 1) a tour of Google Chrome; 2) a description of Google Chrome and why computer uses like it; 3) ways Google Chrome’s operating system differs from other computers; 4) the difference between an app and a program; 5) Chrome settings, what they do and where to find them; and 6) the Cloud.
The class is limited to 10 participants. Persons who want more information or to pre-register for the class can call the Jefferson public library at 515-386-2835.
Note from the instructor: Google Chrome Browser and Google Chrome Operating System work basically the same way no matter which computing device you use to access the Internet. However, it will be fully functioning and easier to manipulate if you use a laptop (Apple or Microsoft) or Chromebook. Chrome on other devices can be limited to basic functions, but you can still benefit from attending this class.
