Results of 4-H communications contest told

4-HOnce the Bell Tower Festival is past, Greene County residents turn their attention to the Greene County Fair, but for one group of 4-H fair exhibitors, their event came even before Bell Tower Big Top.

The 2015 Greene County 4-H communications contest was held Wednesday, June 10, at First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson. Seven exhibitors competed for the parents, friends, and judge Ashley Kinkade of Ames. The contest was coordinated by communications superintendent Yvette Bardole.

4-H members competed with educational presentations and/or posters. Ribbons were awarded as follows:

  • Arthur Bardole, ed presentation and poster, 2 purples
  • Avery Bardole, ed presentation and poster, 1 purple 1 blue
  • Natalie Heupel, poster, 1 blue
  • Lakota Larson, ed presentation, 1 purple
  • Jared Marshall, ed presentation, 1 purple
  • Jaron Thompson, poster, 1 blue
  • Joe Thompson, poster, 1 blue

Arthur Bardole, Lakota Larson and Jared Marshall were selected to do their educational presentations at the Iowa State Fair. The posters of Arthur Bardole and Joe Thompson will advance to the State Fair.

Avery Bardole will do his educational presentation at the Clay County Fair.
