The Ram baseball team won both games at the Cherokee tournament Saturday.
The Rams topped the Falcons of Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove in a bat-rattling 19-12 game. Tyler Beger, Trey Tucker and Reid Lamoureux pitched with Lamoureux getting the win.
The Rams had 14 hits: two singles and a triple for Daric Whipple; two singles for Colton Fitzpatrick; a double for Tucker; a single, a double and a triple for Alex Rasmussen; a double for Lamoureux; and a single for Riah Nelsen, Jordan Challen, Jordan Hostetler and Beger.
In the second game, the Rams beat the host Cherokee Braves 11-7. Dylan Fouch, Hostetler and Nelsen pitched. The win was credited to Fouch.
The Rams collected 13 hits against the Braves. Whipple hit a home run and two singles. Fitzpatrick hit two doubles and Hostetler also hit a double. Nelsen hit three singles, and Challen, Lamoureux, Dylan McConnell and Beger all hit one single each.
The Rams are now 6-3 overall and 4-2 in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference. They return to league play in Alleman against the North Polk Comets Monday evening.
