All are welcome
The Al Welsh Orchestra will bring its Big Band Era sound to The Gardens in Jefferson this Wednesday, June 10, at 2 pm. The public is cordially invited to share the special afternoon of music from the 1920s, ‘30s, ‘40s, ‘50s and ‘60s.
The orchestra plays the music of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Woody Hermann and Benny Goodman, as well as music of much loved dance bands like Lawrence Welk, Guy Lombardo, Sammy Kaye and others.
The Al Welsh Orchestra first formed in the 1950s and now includes Greene County residents Marlene Radebaugh of Rippey and Chuck Radke of Grand Junction. The orchestra has played all over Iowa and frequently provides live dance music at the Lake Robbins Ballroom.
All are welcome to the Wednesday event. The Gardens is located at 1000 W. Washington St in Jefferson.
