The Greene County Motorcycle Charity will host its seventh annual Bell Tower Festival motorcycle ride and poker run Saturday, June 13. Rally point for the ride will be Peoples Trust & Savings Bank at the corner of W. State and N. Vine St beginning at 8 am. All riders should leave Jefferson by 12 pm and return by 5 pm.
The route this year is 119 miles with stops in Lehigh, Fort Dodge, Barnum and Paton. After returning to Jefferson, riders can enjoy the live music of Planet Rock from Fort Dodge at the Festival beer tent on N. Wilson from 2 to 6 pm.
As in past years, a free motorcycle show will be included. Registration will be from 9 am to 1 pm, with the show starting at noon and ending at 4 pm. Show classes will include Metric, Vintage (pre-1990s), Peoples’ Choice, Trike, Custom, Bagger and Late Model. Plaques will be awarded to winners of each class. Tickets will be available for the raffle of a motorcycle table lift and other items.
Sponsors for the 2015 poker run include Doc’s Stadium, McLaughlin International, Carroll Cycle Center, Van Wall Power Powersports, 209 Main – Tool Bar, Dan’s Spicy Barbecue Sauce, Neese Inc, Templeton Rye, Trophies Plus, Oly’s Corner, and Hog House/Lucas Oil.
All proceeds of the event will go to the Raccoon Valley Kiwanis Aktion Club of Jefferson. Last year the Aktion Club received $1,500.
