Business at the season opening of the Greene County farmers market was brisk Tuesday with a dozen vendors on hand with an array of produce, baked goods and handcrafted items.
New vendors are welcome at any time. Cost for vendor space is $20 per week or $120 for the entire season. Vendors younger than 18 who are selling produce from their own garden, or their own baked goods or crafts, pay a reduced rate for their space. Persons who want to become vendors should call coordinator Chris Henning at 515-370-2436.
There are also September dates available for organizations to serve fundraiser meals. Persons who want more information about meals can call Nancy Rogers at 712-210-1001.
The farmers market is held every Tuesday through Sept. 29 from 4 to 6:30 pm on the east side of the courthouse in Jefferson.
