In Greene County magistrate court Travis Frederick Venteicher of Grand Junction was found guilty at trial May 27 of theft-fifth degree. He was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge. He must also pay a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative (LEI) surcharge, $18.45 restitution and $88.34 court costs.
A warrant was returned May 13 in a case dating from August, 2013. Courtney James Baugh of St Joseph, MO, was charged with assault.
Cases were initiated in magistrate court as follows: Amelia Marie Kennedy of Jefferson, violation of a no contact order; Mark Andrew Duntz of Des Moines, possession of drug paraphernalia; Angela Bonnette of Jefferson, disorderly conduct; and April E. Doggett of Jefferson, disorderly conduct.
Persons paid fines for scheduled traffic violations during the week ending May 29 as follows: Sean Reid Erickson of Carroll and Joshua James Woodard of Woodward, dark window/windshield, $50; and Dennis Charles Jordan of Jefferson, failure to yield to vehicle on right, $100.
Also, speed, $80 (11-15 mph over limit): Gina Rae Schneider of Churdan.
Speed, $40 (6-10 over): Susan Louise Deo of Bondurant, Kelsey Marie Wallace of Cedar Rapids, Jennifer Ruth Grow of Ankeny, Joshua James Woodard of Woodward, and Todd Maurice Nickell of Chanhassen, MN.
Speed, $20 (1-5 over): James Robert Dawson of Fort Dodge, Betty Marie Harmon of Des Moines, and Mary Kathelene Semke and *Douglas Lloyd Tucker, both of Jefferson.
Failure to wear/maintain safety belt, $50: Dylan Jeffrey Lansman of Grand Junction and Brenda Marie Martin of Jefferson.
Judgments were entered against individuals for nonpayment of scheduled fines as follows (original fine listed): *Jeffrey John Brant of Carroll and *Delaney Moriah Spencer of Jefferson, failure to maintain control, $100; and *Max Barlean of Dallas Center, speed, $90.
The judgment includes a penalty of one-half the original fine and surcharge.
Court costs were $60 on each citation unless otherwise noted.
