Last year’s Bell Tower Festival Yellow Brick Challenge is returning this year as the LEGO® Tamer Challenge. Hosted by Greene Bean Coffee and co-sponsored by GreeneCountyNewsOnline, the contest invites participants to “step right up” and build and show off an original LEGO® creation based on the 2015 Festival theme of Bell Tower Big Top.
The contest is open to adults and children of all ages. Judging will be done in four categories: children age 12 and younger, teens ages 13-19, adults age 20 and older, and families/teams. Entries will be judged on creativity, use of theme, and innovative use of LEGO bricks. Entries should fit within a space of 18 inches by 18 inches and should not be taller than 36 inches.
Owning LEGO bricks isn’t necessary. Greene Bean Coffee will host a LEGO Build Night next Friday, June 5, from 6 to 8 pm. Participants are welcome to use bricks from the Osborne family’s extensive collection to build their contest entries.
Participants are also welcome to build at home using their own LEGO bricks. Regardless of where the creations are built, contest entries should be at Greene Bean Coffee before 4 pm Thursday, June 11. Judging will be done Saturday afternoon, with winners announced at 4 pm.
Entries will be displayed at Greene Bean Coffee, along with an enormous working LEGO® Ferris wheel built by Greene Bean Coffee owners Rich and Reagan Osborne with help from son Mason.
