“One’s impossible, two is dreary, three is COMPANY, safe and cheery.” COMPANY is the story of Robert, a single New Yorker, among his married friends, weighing the realities of getting married or staying single.
History Boy Theatre Co was in 2014 named Outstanding Tourism Business in the state by Travel Iowa and the Iowa Travel Federation. “Seven seasons of sold-out shows have propelled History Boy into the spotlight and this is your chance to catch an outstanding production featuring some familiar History Boy faces as well as some new friends,” said co-director Angie Pederson.
Many of the married couples in the show are actually married in real-life, lending an element of reality to the clever comedy scenes. Nick Lehman returns to the HB stage after his performance in 5 Course Love and is joined by his actual wife Lindy. History Boy veteran Rob Hoyt’s character is married to Rob’s real-life wife Emily, who is re-joining HB with her first performance since The Great American Trailer Park Musical. The cast is filled out with other familiar History Boy faces, Robby & Angie Pedersen (ironically, not playing a married couple), Molly Nelson (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Samantha Pedersen (Golden Boy of the Blue Ridge), Yvette Bardole (25th Annual Putnam Co. Spelling Bee/Golden Boy of the Blue Ridge) and Laura Clark (The Great American Trailer Park Musical).
New talent to History Boy’s stage includes Jon Bos, Kurt Nelson, David Peterson and Amy Roberts.
