Greene County Chamber president Omega Sang reports that April 30 was the last day on the job for Chamber executive director Chris Henning.
Henning joined the Chamber as a contractor in May of 2013 to assist the board and the Bell Tower Festival committee pull together the 2013 festival. Later that summer she accepted the part-time position as executive director.
During her time as executive director, the Chamber streamlined and updated its accounting and technology systems; launched a new website that incorporated the Chamber, Greene County Development Corp and tourism in one site with a searchable web presence for each member business; and published a new “Think Greene Business and Tourism Guide.”
Henning said she most enjoyed “feeling a part of the success and vitality of a growing Greene County, from the successful campaign to land a casino, the potential of a hub for our tourism efforts and downtown public restrooms in the Welcome Center, and more than $80,000 in Chamber Check sales into our local economies in those 20 months.”
Henning will continue her efforts with the Greene County farmers market, Practical Farmers, Women Food & Ag network, and “many worthy causes and all sorts of political campaigns to weigh in on.”
