Jefferson Telecom partnered with Greene County Elementary School to facilitate the Catch-A-Sketch program again this year. The Catch-A-Sketch program provides area third graders an opportunity to design artwork depicting Jefferson that will be displayed in the upcoming telephone directory’s yellow pages.

Spring clean-up Saturday in Scranton
Residents of Scranton will have the opportunity to clean up their properties Saturday morning. City officials have arranged for a dumpster for disposal of household items and extra garbage on April 25. It will be located across from City Hall on Main Street. Hours for the clean up are 6 to 8 am.

Statewide there were 4.4 days suitable for fieldwork. Farmers in west central Iowa had 3.8 days. Activities for the week included manure hauling, tillage, oat seeding, anhydrous application, and some corn planting.
