Shawn Angell was the winner in the March Mania basketball brackets contest. Angell was awarded Beats Studio Headphones by Dr Dre. Shawn Angell earned the most points in the contest and was awarded Beats Studio Headphones by Dr. Dre.
Simeon Lang came in second place and received a Jawbone UP Fitness Tracker. Dennis Healy finished in third, winning a Bluetooth stocking cap. John Lynch won $25 in Chamber Checks in a random drawing that all contestants were eligible for regardless of standings at the end of the challenge.
Nearly 500 individuals participated in this year’s contest. Contest participants were invited to fill out brackets for the NCAA men’s basketball championship tournament and earned points for each game they picked correctly.
The contest was conducted online and sponsored by area businesses. Slam Dunk Sponsors included Ben Franklin/RadioShack, Caleris, Greene County Medical Center, Home State Bank, Midland Power Cooperative, Pizza Ranch, and Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home. The contest was powered by Jefferson Telecom.
