Even with a daytime format, luminaria will still be part of the Relay for Life of Greene County. Luminaria chairman Shirley Stapleton explained that the decorated bags, honoring a cancer survivor or in memory of someone who has lost the battle to cancer, will decorate the walking track at the Greene County Community Center during the Relay.
A ceremony will be held at the close of the Relay at 2 pm, all names of those honored will be read. Brenda Roberts will be vocalist at the touching ceremony.

The Relay for Life of Greene County will be held Saturday, April 25, from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm at the Greene County Community Center in Jefferson. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society’s work to provide patient and caregiver services, serve as an educator and advocate, and fund cancer research.
