Medical center seeking nominations
Greene County Medical Center is gearing up to honor its third Daisy Award winner on National Nurses Day, May 6.
The medical center held two Daisy Award ceremonies in 2014. First honoring Jenny Taylor, director of clinical services, and then honoring public health nurse Laine Custer. More than 23 nurses have been nominated for the Daisy Award thus far.
The internationally-known Daisy Award has been used to recognize thousands of “extraordinary nurses” for exceptional patient care for the past 15 years. More than 1,700 medical facilities worldwide honor nurses with the Daisy Award.
The medical center is now seeking nominations for 2015 honorees. Nomination forms and submission boxes are located throughout the medical center. Nominations can be made by patients, their family members, caregivers, community members and co-workers.
Chief nurse executive Katie Heldt said, “We were thrilled with the nominations received in 2014 and look forward to receiving even more in 2015. Nominations from patients, families and caregivers are especially rewarding for our nurses, so I hope we see more of these nominations this year.”
While nominations can be made throughout the year, nominations for the May 6 award will be accepted through April 30.
