Easter egg hunts were the order of the day Saturday, with several hunts planned around the county.
The Jefferson park and recreation department and the Jefferson Kiwanis hosted their annual hunt Saturday morning on the grounds at the Greene County Community Center. It took the 120 children there less than two minutes to scour the grounds of 1,050 goody-filled plastic eggs.
The following local business supplied either, eggs, coupons, candy, or Chamber Bucks for the event: Ben Franklin, Boomgaars, Breadeaux Pizza, Bunkers Dunkers, Casey’s, Dairy Queen, Excuses, Fareway, Home State Bank, Hy-Vee, Community Betterment, Jefferson Telecom, Kum & Go, Oly’s Corner, Peoples Trust & Savings Bank, Pizza Ranch, Shopko, Subway, Teeples Heating & Cooling, Uptown Café, and Wells Fargo.
Absolute Massage Therapy donated a 32-ounce chocolate bunny – Gracie Cooklin was the lucky winner. She’s pictured with park and rec assistant director Sean Ostendorf.
