The 10th annual “Toddler Fest” will be held Saturday, April 11, from 10 am to noon at the Greene County Community Center. Toddlers, 2-5 years old, and their families are invited to spend time together at this great free event that encourages children to “Bee A Reader.”
Magician Rick Eugene Brammer will entertain the children with magical balloon creations. Children can try their luck fishing at the camping site, dress up as a superhero, shop at the grocery store or check out the farming station…these are just a few of the “come and go” activities available with more than different activity stations for children to visit.
Each child who attends Toddler Fest will receive a free book from the Jefferson Rotary Club. There will be prize drawings and treats provided by Bunkers Dunkers.
The Greene County librarians encourage children to check out the selection of books at their local libraries. “With the support of many organizations and volunteers, Toddler Fest is a great reminder that reading is a fun activity for the whole family. If you spend just 15 minutes each day reading to your child, you are not only enjoying a special bonding time, but encouraging the development of essential pre-reading skills needed for your child to ‘Bee a Reader’,” said Terry Clark, children’s librarian at the Jefferson public library. “We hope you will buzz on over and have some fun with us at Toddler Fest.”
Toddler Fest is a cooperative event sponsored by all six Greene County libraries and the Greene County board of supervisors and supported by many community partners and volunteers. Each toddler will receive a book, refreshments, and book bag to fill with goodies while supplies last. For more information about Toddler Fest, contact a local library.
