In Greene County district court Carleton James Tapley, 22, of Jefferson was sentenced to two years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a charge of theft-third degree, amended from theft-second degree. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. Tapley was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge. The fine and surcharge were suspended, but he must pay a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge, $90 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. He was ordered to pay $4,664.12 restitution to Shopko. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Kester)
Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignments as follows: Ryan William Boge, 21, of Harcourt, operating while intoxicated (OWI)-first offense; Patrick Michael Kennedy, 30, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault-second offense; and Ricardo Emmanuell Rodriquez, 29, of Jefferson, OWI-third offense and child endangerment. Trial dates were set for May 12 in every case.
Cases were initiated in district court during the week ending March 13 as follows: Andrew Lee Jensen, 32, of Jefferson, theft-first degree; Cody Lee Sellman, 25, of Scranton, burglary-third degree and criminal mischief-third degree; Amanda Fay Petrzilka, 30, of Scranton, operating while under the influence-first offense and eluding; and Richard Charles Burkhardt, 35, of Jefferson, driving while license barred.
