Denise Charlson, CNA (center) was recognized as employee of the month for February at Regency Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Jefferson. She is pictured with director of nursing Beverly Mentzer and administrator Randy Downey.
“While Denise has only been a part of Regency Park since September of last year, she has been such a valuable asset to join the team,” a spokesperson said. Charlson says she loves working with the elderly and hearing all of their stories. She especially loves to be a part of brightening their day if they’re feeling down.
Charlson is originally from Phoenix, AZ, but moved to Iowa 22 years ago and has been in Jefferson for 15 of those years. She and her husband Darrin have a blended family of six children and 15 grandchildren that keep them very busy. She also enjoys spending her time working in a garden, sewing, and doing embroidery.
