A soup supper fundraiser hosted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary, and the American Legion is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, at the VFW hall at 109 N. Chestnut St in Jefferson.
The three veterans groups will serve chili, potato soup, and vegetable soup, along with desserts, from 5 to 7 pm. Free will donations will be accepted. Leftover soup will be sold to the public at the end of the evening.
That same evening there will be an opportunity to purchase $2 raffle tickets for the drawing of a 3’ x 5’ United States flag. The public is encouraged to bring their faded or frayed flags to the hall for proper disposal.
All proceeds from the evening will be divided among the three veteran groups, with most of the funds to benefit the roof maintenance fund, current operating expenses, and future community projects.
