Toni Linberg, chair of the Greene County Chamber’s events committee, announced that the high energy cover band PopROCKS of Long Lake, MN, will perform at the Bell Tower Festival beer tent Saturday, June 13.
PopROCKS is known for its “party zone” format with all the music, costuming, lights, and dance moves of an arena extravaganza. The band performs today’s hits, 80s rock, throwback hip-hop and timeless classics.
“PopROCKS isn’t a typical cover band,” Linberg explained. “When PopROCKS does a KISS set, they look like KISS. Madonna, Lady GaGa… PopROCKS does it. This will be a beer tent experience we haven’t had at the Bell Tower Festival before.”
The festival steering committee, headed by Linberg, has been meeting since November, working to put together a festival that will be memorable for area residents and that will draw people from all over.
“PopROCKS has a good following of its own. There are people who will come to Jefferson to see their favorite band. We want to show all of them, and all of us, a good time,” Linberg said.
With a theme of Bell Tower Big Top, the steering committee hopes to evoke a circus atmosphere. “PopROCKS fits right in with that. When they perform, people pay attention. They don’t swallow swords or swing from trapezes, but they do just about everything else. We’re very excited to have PopROCKS as part of Bell Tower Big Top,” Linberg said.
