Jefferson Telecom announces a free college men’s basketball tournament contest sponsored by local businesses. March Mania is free and easy to enter, just go to www.jeffersonmarchmania.com and fill out an online bracket.
The contest is open to all residents of Greene County who are 18 or older. Participants can now complete the quick online registration at the website listed. Once the brackets are available for completion after “Selection Sunday”, March 15, an email will be sent notifying everyone that it is time to fill out the bracket.
It is not necessary to have college basketball knowledge in order to participate, as a click-and-drag interface allows for easy bracket selection, taking only a few minutes to complete.
The participants who pick the most winning teams and earn the most points will win prizes. First prize is Beats Studio Headphones by Dr. Dre. Second prize is a Jawbone UP Fitness Tracker and third prize is a Bluetooth Stocking Cap. One random entrant will receive $50 in Greene County Chamber Checks in a drawing that all contestants are eligible for, regardless of standings at the end of the challenge. Plus, players who refer a friend to play the contest will be eligible to win $50 in Greene County Chamber Checks.
Previous first prize winners were Mary Wolterman in 2011, Nikki Uebel in 2012, Chris Dzuris in 2013, and Amy van der Meer in 2014. Last year van der Meer said about the, “I thought it would be a fun way to participate in the NCAA games and it was free to enter. I am so appreciative to all of the sponsors.”
