It’s time for daffodils to benefit American Cancer Society

daffodilsDaffodils are returning as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society via the Relay for Life. The NHS Stompers, Cancer Crusaders and the team from Greene County Medical Center are again partnering to sell bouquets of cut daffodils.

Advance orders are being taken through March 20, with delivery beginning March 18. Bunches of 10 daffodils will be offered for $10. Persons who aren’t contacted by a team member can contact Amy Becker at 515-386-0111, Ruth Broman at 515-386-2188, or Jane Nelson at 515-386-3563.

The daffodil sale is possible through a generous donation from Katie Richardson and Fudge’s Flower Shop.

The American Cancer Society raises funds for cancer research, education and patient service which all eventually benefit Greene County residents. By funding groundbreaking research, the American Cancer Society has contributed to many important discoveries that have led to a better understanding of cancer and cancer treatment. Each year the ACS spends approximately $100 million on cancer research. As a result, there are more than 10 million cancer survivors in the United States each year.

The Greene County Relay for Life is slated for April 25. Visit www.relayforlife.org/greenecountyia for more information.
