Everyone who has ever dreamed of opening a downtown business in Jefferson is invited to mark their calendars for an Empty Building Tour, subtitled “A Tour of Opportunities and Possibility.”
The event is slated for Thursday, April 16, and Saturday, April 18, from 10 am to 4 pm both days.
Several historic buildings now available will be on the tour, with answers to questions you’ve always wanted to ask, and some you haven’t thought of yet, provided. The tour is ideal for people who have wondered about the cost to purchase or rent a building, the cost to repair it, whether there are historic tax credits available, and what other uses a building has seen. Also welcome are serious business prospects who are interested in being part of Greene County’s snowballing economic growth.
The tour is hosted by Jefferson Matters: Main Street, Greene County Development Corporation, and the city of Jefferson. To sign up for either day, visit www.jeffersonmatters.org or call GCDC at 515-386-8255.
