The Paton-Churdan boys have advanced to the Class 1A District 13 semi-finals with a 59-47 win over the Audubon Wheelers in Coon Rapids Thursday night. Audubon had beaten CAM to play the Rockets, who had a bye in the first round of tournament play.

Yoder, Challen to wrestle in second day of state tourney
Greene County seniors Abe Yoder (132) and Jordan Challen (138) won their opening matches Thursday and will wrestle again Friday at the 2A state tournament at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

Greene County conservation director Dan Towers received official notification last week that the county has received a $229,250 grant from the Iowa Department of Natural Resource’s Habitat Stamp grant program. The grant is the large portion of funding for the purchase of 160 acres of timber along the North Raccoon River in Section 30 of Washington Township, southwest of Rippey.
