The Greene County Ram wrestling team will have four grapplers in the district tournament next Saturday in Webster City.
At the Class 2A Sectional16 meet at Humboldt Feb. 7, seniors Abe Yoder (132) and Jordan Challen (138), and junior Tommy Bradshaw (145) won individual titles. Sophomore Hunter Ruth (195) placed second. The top two individuals in each class advance to the district tournament.
Pocahontas Area won the team title in Humboldt with 223.5 points and Webster City was second at 220. Other scores were Humboldt 204, Greene County 153, Southeast Valley (Gowrie) 128.5, and East Sac County (Lake View) 28. Pocahontas advanced eight wrestlers (4 firsts, 4 seconds) to the district with four first place finishes and four second place finishes. Webster City advanced six (three firsts and three seconds), Humboldt advanced six (two firsts and four seconds) and Southeast Valley advanced four (two firsts, two seconds).
Freshman Kane Borgeson (106), sophomore Isaiah Yoder (160), and senior Jamie Theulen (220) placed third. Freshman Cayden Gerdes (126) and junior Keyden Pollock (182) placed fourth.
