LifeServe Blood Center is honoring a total of 274 seniors 2014 Gallon Grads. The everyday heroes include four Greene County graduates: Gabe Bardole, Kyle Bettey, Crystal McEntire and Camron Roath. With recent cool weather it’s easy to forget that we’ve already had a 90-degree day in Greene County and that summer will soon come to stay. Staff at the Jefferson park and recreation department hasn’t forgotten. They’ve forged ahead getting the pool ready to open, with new filters installed and lifeguards fully trained.

The Churdan public library held an open house throughout National Library Week last month. Jefferson Telecom partnered with Jefferson-Scranton elementary school to facilitate the Catch-A-Sketch program again this year. The Catch-A-Sketch program provides area third graders an opportunity to design artwork depicting Jefferson that will be proudly displayed in the upcoming telephone directory’s yellow pages.
