In Greene County district court Donald George Sayre, 58, of Jefferson was sentenced to two years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated (OWI)-second offense, amended from OWI-third offense. All but seven days of the prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. Sayre must complete the recommendations of a substance abuse evaluation and he must also complete a community college drinking drivers course. His driver’s license was revoked for six years. Sayre was fined $1,875 with a $656.256 surcharge and a $10 surcharge for drug abuse resistance education (DARE). He must pay a sheriff’s fee for the jail time he serves, $100 court costs, and restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees in an amount to be determined. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Jameson Todd Ross, 23, of Runnels was sentenced to three days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of carrying weapons while intoxicated. He paid a fine of $625 with a $218.75 surcharge and $140 court costs. He must also pay a sheriff’s fee for the jail time he serves. A charge of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon was dismissed. A charge in magistrate court of public intoxication was also dismissed. (Sentencing: Kester)
A judgment was entered against Joshua James Schneider, 32, of Ford Dodge after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of driving with a revoked license. He was fined $1,000 with a $350 surcharge and a $10 DARE surcharge. He must also pay $90 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: Kester)
Carlan Christopher James Brown, 21, of Jefferson was sentenced to one year in jail after he pleaded to guilty to a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon, amended from assault with intent to inflict serious injury. All but seven days of the jail time was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. He was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge. He must also pay $90 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees, $161 court costs, sheriff’s fees for the jail time he serves, and victim restitution in an amount to be determined.
