Charges have been filed in Greene County district court against Alex Christopher Bruch, 20, of Arcadia, the driver in an accident Nov. 15 at the intersection of Highways 30 and 25 at Scranton.
Bruch is charged with operating while intoxicated-first offense and two counts of serious injury by vehicle. Injury by vehicle is a class D felony, punishable by up to five years in prison with a fine of $750 to $7,500.
According to the accident report last month, Bruch was northbound and failed to stop as posted at the intersection. He pulled into the path of an eastbound vehicle. Bruch and four passengers in the vehicle were injured, with Bruch and two of the passengers being transferred from Greene County Medical Center to a Des Moines hospital with serious injuries.
