James Holz (center) of Grand Junction was recognized at the 96th Iowa Farm Bureau annual meeting held Dec 3-4 as a graduate of the 2014 Farm Bureau Ag Leaders Institute. With him are Iowa Farm Bureau Federation vice president Joe Heinrich (left) and Iowa Farm Bureau Federation president Craig Hill(right).
Each year 25 Farm Bureau members from across the state are selected to participate in this elite institute. “These individuals have the potential for providing exceptional leadership in their county, community, and state. It’s for people who care about the future of agriculture and want to make a positive impact” a Farm Bureau spokesperson said.
Nominated by the Greene County Farm Bureau board of directors, Holz attended five two-day interactive core sessions throughout the year that focused on providing information and insights on issues important to agriculture, developing the necessary leadership skills to deal with critical issues, interaction with current Farm Bureau leaders and staff, and participant networking and interaction.
In September, he traveled with other participants to Washington, D.C. where they met with Iowa’s congressional delegation.
Holz has served on the Greene County Farm Bureau board of directors since 2012 and is currently board secretary.
