There will be plenty of seasonal fun in Jefferson this Saturday, Dec. 13.
Santa and Anna Claus will be at their Winter Wonderland in the Masons’ building (formerly Figenshaw Furniture) on the east side of the courthouse square from 10 to 11 am. They’ll glady pose for pictures with any size group. “We really love seeing grandmas and grandpas and moms and dads with their children. We have more time for those group pictures than when we’re at a crazy-busy shopping mall, so bring the crew,” Anna Claus said.
“We hope that makes it a little less scary for the young ones, too. I know, Santa can be a scary guy sometimes, like when the reindeer munch his daffodils in the spring, but at this time of year, there’s nothing to worry about. We’ve had some screamers, I’ll tell you.”
At 11:30 the Clauses will have a fire truck escort to the Sierra Community Theatre, where they’ll talk with children until the free showing of the movie “Elf” begins at 12 noon. “Santa wasn’t so sure about that until I promised him one of the elves would make sure he has popcorn at the start of the movie. He was worried he’d get caught in a line at the concession stand and miss the beginning,” Anna said. “He’s happy now, though, and we’re excited to visit the theatre. We don’t usually take time for that during our busy season.”
“Elf” is sponsored by Jefferson Telecom and Brooker & Company. There is no admission charge.
